Q: What is a Parent Coach?
A: A parent coach is someone who is trained to faciliate problem solving, to help clients reach their parenting goals, and design actions plans to bring out the client's personal best, keeping focused on his/her needs, values and vision.

Q: Why does Parent Coaching work?
A: Parent Coaching works because as a trained faciliator of change, I focus on your strengths to bring out the answers you already have within you.  Then, I work with you to utilize those strengths to work through the problem.  I am there to help you work through whatever parenting or co-parenting struggle you are facing, no matter how small or big.

Q: What is the difference between a coach and a counselor?
A: The main difference is that a coach works in the here and now.  What is it you are facing right now and how can we work through it?  Coaching focuses on the question "how".  Counseling focuses on the question "why".  Counseling focuses on emotions and healing.  Counseling and Coaching overlap to some degree, for example coaching does work with emotion and counseling does with with the question "how", but the main focus is what distinguishes the two.

Q: What is Co-parenting?
A: Co-parenting is a child-centered philosophy that encourages parents to work as a team to raise their child or children whether the parents are married, divorced, re-married, etc.  Sometimes parents do not see eye to eye on parenting or there is too much conflict with the relationship that a Co-Parenting Coach can help mediate the differences or diffuse the anger in order for the child or children to receive the best care.
Q: Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
A: Online therapy has actually existed since the conception of the internet.  However, it was not until the last 10 years that this niche has began to grow.  It has been found that online therapy with the right therapist can be just as healing, inspiring and productive as an in-person session.  It just depends on the individual and whether they are comfortable with computers and the internet.  Online therapy is not for everyone.

Q: What is online therapy?
A: Online therapy utilizes applications such as email and instant messaging to provide therapy.  If you are not familiar with these applications and are interested in receiving therapy from the comforts of your own home I encourage you to consider phone therapy.  As for the format of online therapy and phone therapy, I conduct the session as I would if we were together in person.  The difference for email though is that it is more direct and it typcially covers one to three topics at a time.
